INEWSBC | The 5th of October is World Teachers Day and teachers all over come together to celebrate and honor this day.
Teachers in Namibia have been spearheaded with the challenge of how to maintain the normalcy in the classroom during the pandemic and ensuring that their students get the deserved education. They have been faced with becoming adaptable and changing their modes of teaching.
The week-long celebration will be celebrated under the theme: Teachers leading in crisis, reimagining the future. In previous years the day has been celebrated by teachers coming together in their respective regions but this year due to the pandemic there will be a live-streamed event.
The event will be streamed from the Namibia National Teachers Union (NANTU) office, where the Minister of Education, Arts and Culture will be in attendance. The event will not only celebrate teachers in Namibia but address the various issues they face during these times. The two-hour event will kick off at 10 a.m and will be streamed on all NANTU social media pages.
