INEWSBC | The Red Cross Society of Namibia has implemented the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in the Kunene region to raise awareness on water, sanitation and hygiene.
The initiative is aimed at improving community resilience and giving the community access to safe drinking water. The project is also extended to Khorixas.
The project is also aimed at preparing communities to respond to different disasters to clean drinking water, and educating the community on hygiene.
Residents upon being educated are also given water purifying tablets to purify water upon collection from water pumps.
The organization in 2019 rehabilitated these water pumps giving community members of Kunene and Khorixas access to clean water.
